TERA BJJ ("we", "us", "our") is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy operating from the 6th Newport Scout Hall, Trafalgar Road, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1QL. You can contact us at team@terabjj.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

We collect only the personal data we need to run the academy:

• Name and contact details (email, phone) when you enquire or join
• Emergency contact and basic medical information for safety
• Payment and billing details, processed by GoCardless on our behalf
• Attendance records and basic training notes
• Photos and video taken at the gym or competitions (with your consent)

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Manage your membership and process payments
• Communicate timetable changes, events and important updates
• Keep you safe during training and respond to incidents
• Promote the club, only using imagery you have consented to

4. Payments & GoCardless

Membership Direct Debits are handled by GoCardless Ltd, an FCA-authorised payment provider. When you sign up, your bank details are submitted directly to GoCardless — we do not see or store full bank details on our systems. Their privacy policy applies to the payment process.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, GoCardless for payments and email providers for communication), or where required by law.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as necessary — typically for the duration of your membership and a reasonable period afterwards for accounting, legal and safeguarding reasons.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for photography or marketing at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

8. Cookies
